When you can put the White House, Congress and the Pentagon in your backyard, you can have a real estate market like Northern Virginia. The number of sales are surpassing 2019 (albeit, they started hitting about June). And prices keep rising at a steady clip. Buyers EXPECT TO COMPETE IN 2020 AND INTO 2021, and it’s not unusual for a seller to receive 10+ offers on the house – many of them escalating the price, waiving financing and appraisal — and home inspection.
BUT – there are still houses NOT selling. Instead of the HOT market, I call this the NOT market. And the reasons are the same as they are even in a slow market – priced too high compared to it’s current condition (in other words, it looks crappy).
STILL – the strategies we employ help buyers beat out the competition and win against the competition – so give me a call to find out how a steady, stable agent experience can get you passed the winning line!
The info below reflects FAIRFAX COUNTY, VIRGINIA. The Green line is sales (closed) in 2019, and the Blue line is 2020.
